Nurturing Legacy

In what areas of your life are you settling? Change is evolving into an unreceptive state of existence. A sure constant demonized for its all-inclusive, universal experience. Some avoid while others embrace the inevitable. No matter the way you color it, change is illustrated beautifuly and holistically. It's our hypocritical nature as humans to be radically moved by the pursuit of change yet ' content with Sameness, ' because fear too like money and capitalism , poisonous power;destroyer of decency. Why must we deny ourselves the privilege of autonomy? The freedom to choose dignity and revel the fruits of one’s labor.

Times were much simpler, childhood revealed passionate innovation and legendary adventure. Our greatest currency was storytelling, play and trade. We bargained off just about anything, everything was valued; deemed worthy. Money and power were nonsensical, we craved authentic artistry; where imagination was foreplay and people appreciated nature’s contribution. Pay close attention to the things you value and how they impact your ability to remove yourself from environments that don’t serve you.

Cultured Seeds Inc. hosted our 6th art showcase, “Backyard Gems” on January 15th. The inspiration for the artists was the theme of rebirth; what is your evolution rooted in? A new addition was added, “ Brain Dump” which encouraged individuals to critically think about the depths of their creations and analyze their innermost desires. Every 20 minutes the music stopped and a question was broadcasted. Most of the time, our brains are in production mode, constantly thinking about the next project, task, or deliverable. The moment work is placed on pause, we become lost, confused about how to embrace the gift of not being measured by what we can produce or contributions that enslave our minds. We must force ourselves to break free from the foreign settler's colonization. They were thieves and inherently evil disguised cleverly, a wolf in sheep's clothing. In order to break every chain that links generational curses, we must grant ourselves permission to escape comfortability for the sake of healing and liberation.

Our commitment is to provide spaces that act as a sanctuary and welcomes complete creative control. Create what you feel and allow yourself to relax and make peace with where you are in the moment; taking advantage of time and space.

These amazing individuals provided show-stopping masterpieces for our Gallery Walk and of course, shared more about what inspired their final product. The remaining participants received a personalized jar filled with a set amount of coins for their contribution, which is associated with our CHANGE lab as a way to pay homage, restore and put resources back into our community. Backyard Gems, because we owe it to ourselves to prioritize mental health, heal, build each other up and around, and end the cycle of generational trauma.
